Sugar Free Lies

In today’s health culture, The “best” way to be healthy is to go sugar free coffee, cookies, soft drinks… etc. By now the research on artificial sweeteners is massive, but for all of you who say you just can’t give up your diet drinks, this post is for you.
Did you know that aspartame, the most used artificial sweetener, is two hundred times sweeter than sugar? Did you know that aspartame is in over 6000 products and used by over 200 million people worldwide? WOW! Here comes thdiet-cokee hard part:

According to Dr. Mercola, whom I have researched his work and trust, he says that aspartame is “the most dangerous substance added to food on the market”!! Aspartame is just more damaging to the body than sugar. It increases the risk of metabolic syndrome (high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol) by 34%. It is the number 1 food additive reported to the FDA as causing adverse reactions. On top of causing your body to retain weight, Aspartame and MSG have a negative effect on your neurotransmitters, overexciting and burning them out, and has been linked to migraines, fatigue, depression and memory loss. In other words, artificial sweeteners damage your brain–permanently. They have a cumulative effect, building up over years, and by the time you develop chronic life-threatening disease from its effects, it’s much harder to do something about it. I am 20 years old, and I care about my health NOW. I am taking steps to avoid the skyrocketing chronic illness that has made my generation the sickest in history. Don’t think you are getting away with the healthy injury you are causing by daily ingestion of aspartame. It WILL catch up with you. Why not rev up your commitment to good health today while you are enjoying life? It’s the only reasonable thing to do.

Can I Lose Weight From Coffee, Soda, and Monster?

Why does 30-Days-to-Fit Work, When All the Others Fail?

One of the biggest reasons people do not even attempt to lose weight is busyness.  Decreasing calories will slow the metabolism, and most people do not have time to function with less energy.  The common solution for many is to try to decrease calories while boosting energy with caffeine and sugar from coffee, soda, and energy drinks such as Monsters.  These become addicting as the busy lifestyle pushes the whole hearted dieter back to fast junk food, and they end up worse off than when they made the attempted to get healthier in the first place.  It’s a vicious losing cycle, with no obvious solution.

Would you be willing to try one more time, if you had a personal daily nutrition coach who has successfully helped 500 people BREAK the diet-failure cycle?  My secret is MORE TIME and MORE ENERGY while achieving your longing for a healthier you.  Here is how we do it:

Arbonne’s protein powder supplement eliminates fast food and sugar cravings.  Protein satisfies hunger, and because the Standard American Diet (SAD) is high carb and filled with toxins, people are always hungry and they don’t know why.  Arbonne Vegan Protein Powder is a blend of three vegetable proteins with the addition of antioxidant vitamins and mineral supplements.  The blend provides 100% of the body’s need for protein.  Do the grocery store protein powders work?  Whey and Soy are cheap, endocrine disrupting and allergen inducing proteins that should be avoided.  Arbonne’s blend includes pea protein, high in branched chain amino acids essential for muscle building and preventing fatigue; cranberry protein, which aids in detoxing major organs, relieving stress, and treating skin conditions; and rice protein, which is easily digestible and hypoallergenic, keeping the blood sugar stable.

Best of all, the protein powder can be used to create the perfect satisfying meal replacement in under two minutes.  You can use the shakes and protein bar replacements for two meals a day, and gain valuable time for YOU!
What about the coffee/soda/Monster problem?  Many people I talk to are addicted to caffeine and sugar, like I was, and thus I  understand the need for sustained energy while losing weight.  There are a few problems with these energy providers:  The refined sugar (11 teaspoons in a Monster, 16 teaspoons in a soda) spikes the blood sugar, fogging the brain, and setting up the consumer for a crash.  The processed caffeine, artificial color additives and preservatives cause dehydration, fatigue, and toxic acidity.  Sodas are among the most acidic foods consumed, which contributes to obesity. When the body is too acidic, it will lay down more fat cells to protect the vital organs.
Compare the results with Arbonne’s Energy Fizz Stick.   There are no artificial colors, preservatives, or acid enhancing ingredients.  At only 13 calories per serving, the Fizz Stick contains B vitamins and minerals for natural energy, and an unprocessed caffeine source, guarana seed and green tea extract, which the body processes over time without the acid/energy crash response of processed caffeine found in coffee, sodas, and Monsters.  The citric acid and natural flavors give you the satisfaction of a carbonated drink with none of the side effects and all of the benefits.  You can lose weight and maintain the energy you need to work and live.
Arbonne’s 30 Days to Fit program also contains a detoxifying component to cleanse not only the colon, but also the blood and major organs.  This is essential to long term weight loss.  Let us show you how you can make permanent changes to better health and avoid chronic disease associated with the SAD diet.  Learn about our Online Fitness Bootcamp that walks you day-by-day through the transition from FAT to FIT.  We did it!  You can too! On A Roll

I have truly upped my workouts lately and have found that I have been really sore. I have been drinking a ridiculous amount of water and stretching everyday, but I was still sore. I tried doing different exercises and switching days and times of the da that I worked out, but no luck. I heard from one of my coworkers about a foam roller, and I have decided it is the key to relieving muscle soreness! What is a foam roller? Well, it is exactly what it sounds. It is a roll of foam, sold in different densities for different uses.

My favorite is to simply place the roller on the floor and lay on top of it, arms folded across your chest, and scoot up and down massaging your back and shoulders. When you lean from side to side you hit different muscles working out the knots in the muscles. You can massage your hamstrings, quads, back, glutes and even your feet. Another great tool for massaging after a good workout is a tennis ball. Yes, a tennis ball. You take the ball and place it between you and the wall in the spot that is hurting you the most. Roll up and down the wall like a bear scratching on a tree and the tennis ball will massage out the different muscles of the back. I have decided that a hige part of health is finding the little tricks to make it easy to live life to the fullest! Learn from others and Keep going!!

Crank it Out

Today I was going through my cupboards in the kitchen to find my food processor to make my weekly batch of protein bars. I got it out, placed my ingredients in and as I pushed the button expecting a wonderful sound of snacks forming… nothing, not a sound! My food processor broke. For a moment I thought I would just wait to buy a new one and make my bars. Why wait? Let’s crank it out now, the old fashioned way! I laughed to myself thinking about how much we rely on technology and whipped up some protein bars! It was a workout and prep! So next time your machines decide to rebel and die, don’t despair, crank it out!!

Food is Fuel

In the SAD diet (standard American diet),  the idea of pleasure food is rampant. In all reality, our food is fuel for our bodies. We do not live to eat, we eat to live. That is the mindset change that must happen on your road to health. Now please understand me, I am not saying that food has to be miserable and all you can eat are the top five foods you loathe… no. I love food. In fact, I take pleasure in a good salad with a homemade avocado dressing, but I do not gorge myself and I know what is needed and what is not. I have trained my body to know when it needs food, and now If I get hungry I feel no guilt to enjoy a high protein snack. Start training your body today. Health is a marathon, there is always more to learn so take one step at a time and step towards freedom from diseases and pain through nutrition! Everyday we face choices in which way to go with our health. Where are you headed?

Natural Remedies

When my mother was pregnant with me she had gestational diabetes. This fact has followed me my whole life, and in turn, blood sugar regulation has always interested me. Over the past few years I have learned that blood sugar is extremely important to our health and so many times I talk to people and they have no idea what I am talking about. If you have never taken your blood sugar, I suggest that you get that done soon just as a reference. It is often overlooked. I know that before I started on 30 Days to Fit my blood sugar was high, but as a young person I honestly never really cared. Over my weight loss journey, I noticed a link between my blood sugar fluctuating and my weight plateauing. Now this may just be my body, but none the less I want to share with you a few natural remedies I have looked into for regulating my blood sugar.Image

First are chia seeds. Who knew? Chia seeds, of all things, are a great thing to add into your diet. One teaspoon of chia seeds in your morning shake can make a huge difference in your blood sugar. When chia seeds are eaten, they form a sort of barrier in the stomach and slow the process of breaking carbs into sugars and how fast that sugar is absorbed into the blood stream. I am amazed that this tiny seed can have such an impact!

I also read in several places that green tea actually helps to lower the blood sugar. The way I understand it is that when carbs are ingested they need what is called amylase to break down the carb into sugars. The green tea actually inhibits the production of amylase, thus slowing the process of breaking carbs into sugar.

Many sources say that avocado can help to regulate your blood sugar as well. I am very excited about this, because who doesn’t like a little avocado on top of their omlette in the morning. I believe that the fiber in the avocado helps to slow the process of sugars entering the blood.

Overall, the research that I have seen has led me to believe that if you really want to keep your blood sugar in check, you need to eat a diet that is lower in carbohydrates. If you think about it, it makes alot of sense. When your body breaks down carbs they turn into sugar, and can often overload your body with unnecessary sugar! Stick to the basics with high protein and green veggies and your body will love you I promise! I started researching this topic this morning, and for lunch today I was rummaging through the fridge finding something to throw together and I decided to go with one of my favorites: chicken and sauerkraut. Before you knock it, you have to try it. The kick of cayenne with the sour of the sauerkraut is delicious, but more to the point it goes along with meat and veggies that your body can break down efficiently and use as needed. Our weigh problems come when our foods are not being broken down and absorbed correctly. We all need to get into the mindset that food is fuel, and our bodies are well oiled machines. If you put dirt in a car, it will not go very far, so don’t put junk in your body! Let’s get back to the basics and get on the road to health!

Let’s Go Places

I want to take a minute and talk to you about goals. Over the course of my heath journey, I have learned that goals are vital to my success. Start with a big goal. Look at your life and decide where you want to be. Set a dream goal and then we look to a smaller goal to help us achieve our larger goal. The smaller goal, for me personally, is usually a fourth of my larger goal. If you feel like even this is too large, break it down even more to where you feel that your goal is easily manageable. After you have set your goals, I suggest you physically write them out and hang them somewhere you will see them everyday. Mine are hanging on my mirror where I get ready in the morning, and each and everyday I am reminded that I am striving to make myself better.

If you need more reminders, write your goals down and put it in your car and your wallet. I know that this sounds silly, but when I first started this weight loss journey, I had my goal posted everywhere. My dream goal was fifty pounds. I set my smaller goals at ten pounds and posted it everywhere!! I actually found one in a book the other day where I was using my goals as a bookmark! Now I have lost more than I could have imagined (75+ pounds) and I set new goals to strive for. The day we lose our goals is the day we end up dead in our tracks. We will be stuck, because if you aren’t striving for anything, where are you going? So my challenge for you today is to look at where you want to be in your life. Do you want to lose weight like me? Let goal setting flow into other parts of your life as well! Do you want to be in a better house? A better job? Do you need a better car? Do not just sit and lose hope about not having things! Get up and set your goals and reach for the stars! You can absolutely do anything you set your mind to! Start now!!! And if you have any questions please feel free to email me at
